Poll asking, "Which of the following would Jesus approve of?" with options like slavery, misogyny, xenophobia, homophobia, Crusades, inquisitions, witch trials, forced conversions, promoting nationalism, Protestant-Catholic holy wars, genocides of Native Americans, church sex and money scandals, opulent lifestyles of church hierarchy, creating fear of unbelievers, focusing on the afterlife, forming marriage between church and state, viewing themselves as chosen, and making correct interpretation of doctrine. The image includes several historical illustrations, including of the Crusades, the Inquisition, and a church scandal scene.

The correct answer is 21. None of the above would be approved of by Jesus although all of these have been done and some are still being done in his name. This is why I say that Christ and Christianity are two different things and nothing has slandered and misrepresented Jesus and his message more than the Christian religions have.

This is also why I personally go by the red letters, which are the words Jesus actually spoke. Everything from 1 to 20  can be justified by quoting scripture from the bible, but not from the gospels. If we start viewing the Red letters of Jesus as having the greatest authority in the bible our understanding of what Christianity is would have to change and if Christianity changes to look like Jesus the world will change for the better.
