What religion really is

Founding the Religions

Judaism and Christianity, as we understand them today, were both founded by powerful men for the purpose of controlling the minds of the masses. That is a strong statement so let’s examine it. Judaism became an organized system under Moses and Christianity by the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great. Both gave the laws of a God we are to fear. Moses gave the Law of Moses and Constantine in partnership with the Catholic Church in 325 ce gave the Nicene Creed which is the foundational creed if Christianity. Both established a priestly hierarchy to teach and enforce the “Laws of God”. Moses commanded everyone to obey the priesthood and the Law of Moses teaching it to their children. In 380 ce the Roman Emperor Theodosius signed the Edict of Thessolonica mandating all good citizens to convert to the religions and teach their children. Anyone daring to go against either priesthood could be shunned, imprisoned, tortured, or even stoned in Judaism and burned at the stake in Christianity.

Childhood indoctriantion- The key to the religions survival

Baby boys were circumcised on the eighth day in Judaism and taught to fear an angry God who demands obedience. They were taught the Torah as soon as they could begin to talk. Disobedience to God’s law brought punishment. Girls were taught they were to be subject to men, basically as property.

In Christianity every child was baptized as an infant into the religion and taught they were born guilty and corrupted by sin before an angry God who would send them to a fiery torment for all eternity unless they obey Church doctrine and pay 10% of their life long income to the Church.

Once any belief system is firmly established in the minds of one generation as truth and reality and all the components of the system are in place (Holy books, creeds, holy days, traditions, rituals, doctrine, priestly garb, etc) the system takes on a life of its own becoming a self perpetuating System of mind control that the people indoctrinated in childhood accept as truth and reality and will fight and die or even kill to defend the system that keeps them an unconscious prisoner to the system.

Jesus came to free us from the System

Jesus came to destroy the System and set the people free. He went to the common oppressed people and told them they don’t need temples, priests, or sacrifices (John 4:19-24). He taught the people not to follow their doctrines. He went into the Belly of the Beast (the Jerusalem Temple) and stood against these “hypocrites, blind guides, den of thieves and snakes who steal widows' houses and for a show make long prayers”. (Read Matthew 23). He taught the people that the kingdom of heaven is to be found within them (Luke 17:21) , that they are as much one with the Creator as Jesus is (John 10:30 &38, John 14 9-11 & 20, and John 17:1 & 20-23, & 26). He taught them that God is not an angry psychopath but a loving heavenly Father like in the prodigal son parable (Luke 15:11-32). He said if you want to know what the Creator is like see how I treat you because “if you have seen me you have seen the Father” (John 14:9). His message was simply you don't need a middleman to find God and all we need to do to fulfill all is to love one another (Mark 12:28-34, Matthew 22:37-40, Luke 10:25-29).

Watch my three short videos on what religion is, who formulated it, and why, for a more in depth view. Alchemizing Religion explains Judaism’s birth. How the Church stole Jesus explains Christianity’s birth, at least as we understand it today. Breaking free explains how indoctrination works and how to break free.
